Een boek met boeiende onthullingen over het verblijf in Zaandam van de Franse impressionist !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1871 verbleef de later wereldberoemde Franse impressionist Claude Monet vier maanden in Zaandam. In die periode maakte hij 25 schilderijen die als de opmaat voor zijn impressionistische werk kunnen worden beschouwd.
In hun boek onthullen kunsthistoricus Henk Heijnen en onderzoeksjournalist Ron Couwenhoven tal van onbekende en interessante gegevens over het verblijf van Monet in de Zaanstreek. Heijnen en Couwenhoven analyseerden alle schilderijen en onthullen onder meer dat Monet het om artistieke redenen op veel van zijn schilderijen niet zo nauw nam met de topografische juistheid. Van twee schilderijen, die hij in het molenrijke Westzijderveld maakte, werden eerder nooit de locaties ontdekt. Dankzij nauwgezet onderzoek zijn nu ook deze beide locaties gevonden, zodat ook alle molens die Monet op de schilderijen vastlegde konden worden ge\u00efdentificeerd. E\u00e9n van deze doeken behoort tot de collectie van het Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
Ruim aandacht is er voor kunstenaars die ook op de Monet-locaties schilderden. Van zijn vriend, de expressionist Armand Guillaumin, achterhaalden zij maar liefst zeventien schilderijen die hij in Koog aan de Zaan maakte.
Claude Monet in Zaandam verschijnt in juni 2022 en is een boek met een nog niet eerder gepubliceerde visie op het verblijf van de impressionist in de stad. Het boek met 288 pagina\u2019s is ge\u00efllustreerd met meer dan 250 afbeeldingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
